INTERPRETATION & CONNECTIONS
Observed, forecast, derived and official remain separate
Every operational layer identifies what it measures, its source, coverage, time and freshness. Products whose validated ingestion is not connected remain visible as unavailable—not as simulated live data.
Observed / source-backed
Measurements, detections and source-published event facts retain their original meaning.
Forecast
Model runs and valid times are distinct from observations and carry their own uncertainty.
PlanetVexa-derived
Aggregation or future hydrology signals are labeled as derived and never promoted to warnings.
Official-only
Warning, Watch and Advisory labels appear only when issued by a competent authority.
PlanetVexa combines flood events, satellite observations, hydrological model data and derived context. Modeled river conditions and PlanetVexa-derived signals do not constitute official flood warnings or evacuation guidance.
Recent source-backed events
Event pages remain useful without JavaScript and retain stable URLs when a source revises its facts.
Source facts, PlanetVexa-derived context and official-only alerts use different labels. Freshness describes the data pipeline; it does not change when the underlying event occurred.
